Come Onam and you will see Mohanlal acting as a half-deaf hero and Mammootty as a one-eyed retired soldier, acting in two different films of course! Mohanlal appears in Joshiy’s “Run Baby Run” as the TV cameraman Venu, who has only one good ear. Amala Paul plays alongside in the female lead role. Screenplay is written by Sachi.
Mammooty appears as one-eyed once again just as he did in “Rajamanikyam”, but this time in the new movie “Jawan of Vellimala”, directed by Anoop Kannan. He plays the role of an ex-jawan, who calls himself Gopikrishnan and works as a dam operator. The film is full of humour and Mamtha Mohandas partners him in the female role. In the movie being produced by Mammootty himself under the banner of Playhouse, Sreenivasan and Asif Ali also appear in important parts.
Both “Run Baby Run” and “Jawan of Vellimala” are expected to be released for the festive season of Onam leading to a battle royal between the two giants of Malayalam cinema.
Who will excel whom? Who will be the winner? Will it be the one-eared Mohanlal or will it be the one-eyed Mammootty? We will wait and watch!
